They won't add to your viewer count. It doesn't help that twitch started auto-pausing streams in background tabs if you open another stream. It seems their effort to stop artificial view inflation has just made regular lurking suck now.

Idk when they decided this. I know they've waffled back and forth between what counted in the past with only counting unmuted streams or focused tabs and stuff like that. I also believe having multiple streams open will not count you as a viewer so if your lurkers are also lurking in 3 other chats
