Preparing for the 2025 Vashon Island Studio Tour with some frivolity that brings me joy—handprinted strawberry baubles.

The reveal of all seven layers of this reductive lino strung together in about 60 seconds. =).

I am pretty chuffed about the final layer. I’ve never done this many complete layers on a reductive linocut. I kept them very thin. The end result is well worth it and I’ve learned a lot.

Layers 7 to 4….

Layer 7. I thought that masking was a good idea this far along… Only two more layers to go. Really. I mean it. Only two.

The first layer of this reductive lino celebrating EM pinball machines…I love beginnings! It never looks like much at first, but it’s all about the evolution. =)

I spent today printing a new version of this puzzle block.

It’s hard to see it here, but I used Cranfield silver ink to add some shine and dimension.

36” x 36” —JPod Visits Quartermaster Harbor”.

I carved this huge lino for a Wayzgoose event. It was super satisfying. (But it takes some real elbow grease to handprint!)

This is called “Silenced.” I can think of so many other names…. What does it say to you given the state of the world?

What would you call it?

This print appeared in Pressing Matters Mag. If you haven’t tried their ink challenges, you should check them out!

“Vintage Crockery at the Blythe Cricket”

Reductive linocut. 18” x 24”. Oil-based ink on paper.

This is my first try at pushing for more and more colors in a reductive. It took about 3 months to compete. The last pic is the lino at the end!

The first inking is always a treat so I made this little production out of it.

I don’t much like making videos (because I’d rather just make art) but a short one like this is pretty satisfying for very little time spent.

The Rabbit: X-tra Large.

Block print. 11” x 14”. Oil-based ink on paper.

I carved a tiny rabbit. It was so popular that I carved it again…much bigger. =)
