I've flown direct from Vancouver to London UK a couple times, and one of the perks is that that you fly over Hudson's Bay, Baffin Island, and Greenland; over a part of a world that's very hard to access. I looked it up, and there's two that get you even further north:

I just learned that there is one type of vertebrate that does not have hemoglobin in its blood: the crocodile icefish, which lives in coastal waters off Antarctica. Their blood is clear, and oxygen is circulated by being dissolved in plasma.

On my ride yesterday there was a beaver hanging out eating grass right beside the bike path on the Toronto waterfront. It’s so weird to me that I’ve seen more beavers in major cities than I’ve seen out in lakes.

Trouble-shooting a measurement, and it turns out my lamp is very stable vs time. But while it didn't reveal anything, at least the graph is pretty. small victories.

The fact that you can take the London subway, see the southern tip of Greenland and the sea ice packed up along the coast of Labrador, then take a different subway in Toronto all in the span of 8 hours is so sick. What a time to be alive.
