I genuinely—without trying to make a joke or reference—said out loud earlier today: "There are seven cans in there? How seven‽"

…while also wearing this shirt.

Our Vintaglo Christmas lights have arrived (on the expert recommendation of @techconnectify.bsky.social). Very excited to get this integrated into our decorations this year.

It's sort of fun seeing how non-tech businesses attempt to explain an AWS outage to their customers. "Limited technology issues"

I think I'm going to start putting "(low confidence)" next to more things I make. It's this decade's "Beta" label.

Diana and I played Vantage today. I befriended a deer made of vines, solved a puzzle to get a magical glove, got hurt because I refused to feed my deer friend to a giant beast, and spent multiple turns preparing a powerful spell which we used exclusively for fun but unhelpful purposes. #boardGames

Last night, I played Picture Perfect and then finished up with another adventure in Vantage.

I landed in an area surrounded by lava, got hurt by lava, met a turtle that lived near lava, foraged for something to heal me but only got lava, and visited a hot spring. …just beside the lava. #boardGames

Last week, I played Evergreen, AI Space Puzzle, and Dodos Riding Dinos. Slowly making some progress on the large pile of unplayed games. 😄 #boardGames

One of my favorite parts of making Blanche was writing the item descriptions (and "where she found it" text) for the trinkets you could win. It was fun writing for our friendly—if naive—little treasure collector. 😄 #playdate

OK. 100%. I should probably stop now. #silksong
October 5, 2025 at 4:57 PM
It took me a bit longer than I expected, perhaps, but that's "true" ending (or whatever you want to call it) on Silksong. What a fantastic game! Not sure I'll ever hit 100%, but that was quite an experience. Bravo.

And now I can listen to the whole soundtrack without fear of spoiling anything! 😄

This week, I played Books of Time, Mille Fiori, and Magical Athlete.

Or in other words: I wrote some books, grew a glass dynasty, and raced alongside an Egg and a Big Baby. #boardGames

And they call the bag Maria.

Is that anything? Smothers Brothers? Paint Your Wagon? You know? Maybe?

It's almost a joke, I've got to imagine. You just have to be the age that my soul is, perhaps.

Last night, I played "Daybreak" by @mattleacock.bsky.social and @baddeo.bsky.social (from @cmyk.games).

Had a great time, and won! (…if you're willing to take back one single move that, in retrospect, was a bad idea. 😄)

First *and* last name? You're not my mother, Vanguard.

I've reached credits in Silksong for the first time after about 30 hours. Fantastic game. Well worth the wait and then some.

But if this is anything like Hollow Knight, emphasis on "for the first time". 😄

Last night, we went to the drive-in to see "Toy Story". I bought *way* too much popcorn. (Ref: third bucket of popcorn not pictured here)

It's been a while since we've been to the drive-in, and I figured having an EV would make it an even better experience. I was right! (Also, Mabel missed us.) 🍿

I found this very nice Bicycle-branded hanafuda fusion deck of cards, designed by Juniardi Satyanagara.

Lovely artwork and great-quality cards (as always from USPCC).

Shaw!

Yesterday, I played Windmill Valley, Wandering Towers, and Can't Stop.

I wish I'd realized earlier the "W" theme I had going on. Would Sid Sackson mind if we changed it to "Won't Stop"? #boardGames

More #vinyl arrives. I realized I've been a little behind on the Roxette 30th anniversary releases. "Fireworks" came on during a recent shuffle playlist, and I thought "Wait, wasn't 'Crash! Boom! Bang!' released in '94? Did it get a new pressing?"

It did. And here it is. 😄

Adventures in Our House, Volume 47: I needed a plumb bob, but I do not own a plumb bob.

I do, however, own twine and a little car shaped like Toad from the Super Mario series.

And thus: I did procure a plumb bob.

This week was a busy one, board game–wise. I played Finspan, Four-Corner Detective, Wilmot's Warehouse, Tiny Fluxx, and Dark Stories (not pictured). #boardGames

It’s International Crokinole Day! So we had to pull out the board for a game or two.

I love when two interests of mine collide unexpectedly. …and even more so when I placed an order for such an item months ago and almost forgot about it.

Yesterday, I got my copy of Holo's Hanafuda for the Switch. It's incredibly well-made, both the physical item and the game. 🎴 #hololive #hanafuda

Ah, yes. If you enjoyed that last Rod Stewart number, might I suggest: Toto, Genesis, or perhaps the Flashbeagle soundtrack?
