This was extortion. FCC Chair Carr threatened broadcast licenses for things regime disapproved. Nextstar, the largest US owner of broadcast stations, notified ABC it wouldn't broadcast Kimmel to protect itself. ABC suspended Kimmel to protect the time slot revenue stream. It's worse than it appears

I phoned my senator, Catherine Cortez Masto. Her staff confirmed that NIH, CDC, HHS, and FDA must pause all external communications through February 1st. I asked my senators and my representative to oppose this strongly. Please phone your members of Congress and ask them to strongly oppose the EO.
