Sukkot begins tonight. While the Sukkah (hut) is meant to be a reminder of the biblical Exodus, living in a hut should also remind us of those who are food and housing insecure. May we live understanding of our history as well as our obligations towards those in need. Chag Sameach, a Happy Sukkot!

Going into the holiday of Shavuot with emotions. Anger at the violent attack on peaceful Jewish & pro-Israel demonstrators in CO, yet pride in the celebration of harvest season & of the Torah. Sending healing prayers to those wounded. May this be a Chag Sameach.

Yom Yerushalayim - Jerusalem Day is tonight & tomorrow, celebrating the reunification of the city during the Six Day War. This marked the first time in decades that Jews could freely go to holy sites in eastern Jerusalem, while Muslims & Christians retain control of their holy sites.
