“Saying “I can’t,” or, “this is too hard,” or “it’s too much,” is sometimes the only way a kid has to self-advocate, other than with their behavior, especially if that kid doesn’t have a lot of ability to effectively communicate to begin with.”

Also today, may I express deep concern about the ADOS-2 diagnostic test?

Examining an autistic child, research teams mark 'aggression' if the children "Display an example of mild disruption"
"Display anger"
"Display negative behaviour"
Use a "deliberately loud voice"

I can’t get over how cartoonishly evil this is

putting in your fucking “hate speech” policy that a particular kind of hate speech against a particular group of people is explicitly allowed - and therefore encouraged - is the kind of shit that should be done from a volcano lair with a shark moat
Meta literally created a LGBTQ exception for calling someone mentally ill as an insult. You can't do it for any other group except LGBTQ people.

Absolutely disgusting what mentally weak, depraved, and morally bankrupt members of academia, the medical establishment, and "advocacy" groups have done to millions, who are ironically their income source.

Nef-fing to see but a bunch of LOSERS.

The Chinese government espionage campaign that has deeply penetrated more than a dozen U.S. telecommunications companies is the “worst telecom hack in our nation’s history — by far,” a senior U.S. senator told The Washington Post in an interview this week.

Nothing like the evaluators for getting support services downplaying Covid risk, and saying even if approved for support services I won’t likely find any willing to wear an N95 in my home. They just likely won’t be willing to. Just say you want us to die already and be honest about it.

This messaging from the American Public Health Association is trash. www.apha.org/topics-and-i...

Apparently the pandemic only lasted from 2020-2023 and they are using the governments decision to stop paying for it as the ending date. They do have a caveat that it is still a problem, not good.

actual tip for people new to bsky: far more than the other site Alt Text here is very widely used and encouraged on picture and gifs. it's a strong enough norm that many people literally won't quote/like/reply to an image post without it. there's an option you can set that will remind you to add it♥️
some reasons using Alt Text every time makes this site better for everyone (do not think "I don't have many followers, odds seem low any are visually impaired")
-respects mute words
-makes image post searchable
-lets people in on reference they missed
-any post could get shared beyond your followers
You are 300% sexier and 400% more likeable when you use alt text 100% of time time, sorry for the math problem

We are all connected.

Until we remember this, we can't meaningfully protect anyone.
