NEW: Epstein survivors release the most powerful PSA I have ever seen.

Make this go viral so every member of the House of Representatives sees it.

Sorry you had to wait 10 months for your cancer surgery – a politician needed to save 10 minutes getting to the airport.
$4 BILLION to save 'up to 10 minutes' during peak traffic. Fucking hell - imagine what that $4B could do for housing, education, health, etc, in Aotearoa.

"Fonterra especially should start just treating the more reliable (as in more consistent) local market using cost plus instead of market pricing.
For Fonterra brands it's easy for them to set retail pricing. For other local manufactures Fonterra could offer rebates for goods to local market."

But why do New Zealanders have to constantly pay above export market prices, often for what is lesser quality than that is exported?
Especially since the NZ Taxpayer disproportionally subsidises the infrastructure that is supporting meat + dairy production?

Why red meat is getting more expensive
If you feel like red meat is more expensive than it used to be, you're right.

Goddamn so much of the system relied on high integrity and professional shame and once that was stripped away by lack of consequence it was just a ticking bomb right.

We thought the system was protecting us and we could fuck around electing anyone.

But we were supposed to be the system.

Finally caught up on #Pluribus and it’s as good as everyone, incl. @anoddgeography.bsky.social says it is!

Bonus fun: opening scene has the VLA and radio astronomers behaving in exactly the way radio astronomers would behave 😂

Recommend it!

Mining is dangerous but at a modern mine there would've been 2 or 3 people under there and all of them would have been in the reinforced cabins of enormous Liebherr or Caterpillar machines, or even using remotely operated Komatsu haulers, etc. In DRC the people are used as consumables. Horrific.
A huge section of a copper mine collapsed on workers in the DRC

According to various reports, between 30 and 50 people were killed, and dozens of miners are still trapped under the rubble.

Everything in these various threads resonates with a growing sense of confusion I’ve had reading various developer forums about LLMs, MCPs, etc; being that it seems like a large number of developers don’t seem to understand the basic concepts of programming and automation whatsoever any more
this goes right along with my theory that the AI obsession in *users* is often bc…

1. they were never educated (esp "ipad generation") & don't know how computers work

2. our tools and services are all SO AWFUL NOW, degraded at best, actively user-hostile at worst

The alarming thing here isn't just that they discovered asbestos in a children's toy. Or even that it's the second time in a week. It's that there's still so much asbestos being snuck into things that they have to routinely test for it
