Took 5 min today and whipped up simple designs in Canva. Sized to fix 2 x 4" and 1 x 1 5/8" mailing labels. Print them by the sheet and stick them up: lampposts, parking meters, sidewalks. (Just don't be a jerk.)

I think you can boil down so many of this country's problems down to that very idea. Americans treat their surrounding environment as a collection of finite property to be claimed if and while you can, and others as opponents in that mad rush. We haven't been a community for at least a century.

Reminder that we didn't win the similar long fight over seatbelt usage by gently persuading skeptical anti seatbelt people with empathetic outreach, or by having cops write tickets, but by having manufacturers make cars do a little annoying beep if you didn't wear it.
