So this week we’ve had a man impersonating an ICE agent tie up a woman and steal $1000; a man impersonating a police officer assassinate a top Democratic politician & her husband (and shoot another Democrat & his wife); and a man impersonating a king hold a military parade for his birthday

I’m all about letting these two take shots at each other but it’s wild that the reporting has completely normalized the behavior of the president to personally wield the government against those who have spited him

i wrote about empathy, the recent push by some conservative leaders to retcon it into a vice, and what i think they're really afraid of.
No, Empathy Is Not a Sin
A recent book tries to make the case that empathy is leading Christians astray. What it really reveals is a fear of losing power.

Since the USSC has decreed absolute immunity for the president for “official acts”, and since POTUS can pardon anyone who acts at his behest (and has already shown his willingness to do so), and since the Congress has abdicated its impeachment power - it seems Trump is already a de facto dictator.

As of Friday, there have been 46 cases in which federal judges have blocked Trump policies.

The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits.

Maybe it's not the judges?

What’s worse? Accidentally adding a journalist to your top secret group chat or admitting a journalist hacked your top secret group chat?
Mike Waltz has now decided to roll out the story that Jeffrey Goldberg somehow hacked his way into their Signal chat.

Just admitting a mistake and apologizing seems like a lot less work than lying and peddling a half dozen different conspiracies.

Trump and Vance act as if the problem is that Ukraine is resisting an ongoing Russian invasion. The problem is the ongoing Russian invasion. If they want to use American power to stop the war, apply it to the aggressor. Abusing the victim is not going to end a war of aggression.
