WOW, all this time I had no pinned post.

Hi! I'm gumshoe! I'm a little guy who likes big mysteries! Obsessed with oversized hats and catching the bad guy!
Something I feel I could really use is a personal project. Something of my own making. Kinda like how folks have twitch channels, art hobbies/side jobs, etc.

I've tried so many times, but it always ends up getting left behind...

I found something very personal in storage:

It's a thumb-sized sketchbook. I bought this back at FWA in 2017 and used it to gather signatures of my closest friends at the time. Got mad nostalgia seeing this.

And with so many unfilled pages, there are many more folks who I need to sign it.

I'm going to eat 5 slices of pizza, lie on the floor, and stare up at the ceiling until I pass out from a food coma :)

Kind of a long, thinky post:
(1)

Something I encourage everyone to do nowadays is, if you forget something which you can solve with a simple Google search... Give your brain some time to ponder it for a bit. Train your memory a bit. I want to tell a little story as to why.

Many have been questioning my validity as a "Durgtective", with some having the audacity to tell me that it's not even a real title.

If it's not a real title, then why do I have a real license certifying me as such?

SNL must have some prevailing sponsorship deal with every existing crossword maker.

About a year or two ago, I hosted a puzzly scavenger hunt with a grand prize at the end.

I was very proud of it, and since its made entirely with word docs (which are still preserved), it still technically functions

There's still some space at the leaderboard docs.google.com/document/d/1...

I actually made progress on a personal project which, isn't near fruition yet, but still is just slightly more visible, which honestly is progress in of itself.

And I have plans to work on it this week too, with set times to do so.

It feels more like I'll actually contribute something worthwhile.

Ive never been a huge fan of the sonic franchise, but I always liked vector's design.

I learned today that he also runs a detective agency.

He earns an extra point.

I can write silly little puzzles people like

I can write fun lil stories.

That's worth something.

I've never been destroyed down to my soul more than when I was jokingly compared to the squished down version of Rex from super Mario world, then finding out that it's actually a VERY accurate comparison.

Maybe I should have my own daily game. Something that can be put together in maybe 30 mins-an hour, but novel and opens your mind a bit.

Connections is a fun example of something like that. Maybe I can find something unique.

Something I've been struggling with lately is a fulfilling purpose beyond work.

My life as of late has just been 'work on weekdays do nothing on weekends'.

I've made many attempts to write mysteries, though they always fell off. And I like designing puzzles, but there's no purpose to them.

"Rewatching Columbo a third time in a straight 12 months feels a little excessive".... I thought before finishing an episode and remembering you can't have too much peak cinema.

Giant magnifying glass instructions:

1. Use magnifying glass to search for clues and find the culprit.
2. Use magnifying glass to whack culprit once found.

Wonderful sketch commission from the awesome @jdpuppy.fastestfurs.com . Thank you again for this awesome piece!

Megaplex always reminds me to make every day and every week something to look forward to.

The party never ends out of cons; it's just in a slow point.

Pretty topical right now are scams that bottle up water from a public water fountain and sell it at a premium.

I accidentally ripped open the bag if spaghetti, and my biggest mason jar only supports noodles that are half their length...

... Its time to offend Italy again.

The easiest way to be fooled isn't with information that you can't verify.

Its with information that's the easiest to verify, because a lot of folks accept it at face value without realizing.
