Without spoiling anything, my own take is it was ok. It's not super long, so maybe time for it.

It's one of those I almost feel would have worked more, for me, as something else (full VN, show, RPG, not sure).

Also, the stuff I liked most, there wasn't enough of, or felt a bit unevenly done.

I still remember watching a streamer struggle with navigation in Elden Ring, and feel lost on where to go or find maps. Why? Distracted by chat and spamming through tutorial messages and dialogue.

Strict no backseating meant nobody could point out the missed info, or where to re-read them in menu.

Anything I haven't played yet, and might, it's me avoiding spoilers. Same reason I didn't pop by for Silent Hill f streams, which I absolutely want to play, but haven't got to it yet.

Regardless, enjoy your current hyperfixation.

I still have fond memories of a long gone video store from childhood. Walking in, you could smell the buttered popcorn.

That's how I found new movies and games then. And long before word of mouth got the word out, that's how I wound up watching The Princess Bride the first time (of many to come).

I didn't even know the lore before reading into it today. I recognized the game, and knew it was yet another riff on Journey to the West.

There was a bit of buzz around it coming out, when it did, shiny new game and all. And then I didn't really hear about it again.

Yeeeeah, I wasn't aware of that. Now I know more than I wanted to.

It's sounds like even more of caution flag than anytime someone says they like the movie Alita: Battle Angel. It's not a bad movie for what it is, but I noticed it got pushed by people hating on Captain Marvel at the time.

It's not the easiest to make a remake of, as it's kind of a special movie that walks a fine line of a very particular kind of horror comedy.

That version may be worth checking out, yes. That said, I do prefer the original. Certain added things felt more typical than what made the original so good.

Yeah, I'd also love a Unimog (among others I want). I hadn't even seen that one. They're not just cute, they're really good at what all they can do.

Never been in one, but might scratch that itch of tractor adjacent and farm truck practicality. That or locate fond childhood memory era trucks.

"In a world...

Where pee-dom is a distant memory...

When any piss-take could be your last...

The world wanted a hero...

What they got...

Was PISS COP.

Officer Kathy Dar is on the case, flushing crime down the tubes. When urine trouble, PISS COP will be there."

Could even be a ghoul-ash gore-age.

While the struggle with early trucks does help learn the fundamentals. Sometimes, ya just want to get the job done. So, certain trucks will let you buy better tires earlier, rather than being stuck with highway tires tires that are awful in sticky mud.

Can also download the free Anniversary DLC, which will give them two free trucks in the garage (unless playing hard mode, which I don't recommend first time).

Those Anniversary DLC trucks aren't great to start due to level unlocked equipment, but by selling them, can get other trucks.

For a few tips and examples... New players should absolutely try the tutorial first time.

But if it's so frustrating they wanna quit before out of the tutorial, there's an option to skip it. Pause menu, Settings, and select Skip Tutorial, and they can then recover to jump to the garage.

This is a solid suggestion. There's *tons* of DLC for this. Base game (Michigan, Alaska, Taymyr) is fine to get your feet wet, and decide if it's right for you.

And if you're really struggling, there are absolutely things to make life easier, early game.

Another that sprang to mind (of many)? John Sykes song Cautionary Warning. It was the opening to the anime Black Heaven (aka 課長王子, Kachō-Ōji, opening shown in the link).

It's been truly excellent, so far. Someone asked me to give my take on it before they watched it. And without spoiling it for them, the one word that came to mind was "unsettling." And that's a good thing when it comes to anything related to Alien.

And better check to see if there's load removal at least and autosplitter. Because when you're beating OFF, want your hands free, and not fumbling with Livesplit to make sure you got accurate times.

Also don't wanna accidentally spill something on the keyboard tying to hit keybinds at the climax.

It's definitely the nostalgia of a past that never was. Just like it is for the 1950s too. It's an idea of the thing, from a child's past, generally via the lens of family friendly media. A sense that things were better, less complicated, due to rose tinted glasses of a (hopefully) good childhood.

Will be giving the demo a try.

Just from the trailer, makes me think of a trippy version of classic Outrun.

And I mean that in the best way possible.

Same reason as anywhere else, probably. Because they're awful people, want attention, want to feel powerful by shitting on someone else, and a block still probably feels like some kind of win.

I'm realistic about how much people, in general, probably suck. Even while trying to hope for better.
