Dungeon World is very one-shot friendly and much easier to grasp than DnD. If you want something even more structured (the entire game is designed for one shots) check out Eat the Reich.

As I've gotten older the more I've learned that avoiding pre-release discourse is just the way to go. I'll play the game when it comes out and make up my own mind.

Just buy the official Square published guide that tells you to go to PlayOnline for the real details every 3rd paragraph. Young me is definitely still not bitter about this.
