JCPA is the national convener of Jewish coalitions working to build a just and inclusive American democracy.
Giving Tuesday comes at a crucial moment. We can act now to defend democracy and counter antisemitism and hate. Today only, gifts to JCPA are matched 100%. If you can, support our work for shared safety and inclusive democracy: act.jewishpublicaffairs.org/a/donate-2025

Happy Thanksgiving from JCPA!

Tomorrow we remember Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay elected officials in the U.S., who was assassinated for fighting for equality. His legacy reminds us that LGBTQ+ safety, dignity, and full participation in democracy are essential. May his memory be a blessing.

Protecting the rights and safety of all communities and advancing inclusive democracy isn’t just important because of our values. It's also crucial for our own safety as Jews.

In her Thanksgiving message, JCPA’s Sr VP and Rabbi in Residence Rabba Rori Picker Neiss reflects on how this holiday comes amid deep division in the Jewish community — and reminds us that even when conversations feel hard, we lean in, listen, and stay connected.

Chanting things like “globalize the intifada” and “death to the IDF” outside a synagogue isn’t protesting Israeli policy. It’s antisemitism, and there’s no excuse. www.timesofisrael.com/we-need-to-m...

Political violence is never acceptable and should not be encouraged by our leaders. This year, we've seen public officials targeted with assassinations, arson, and other attacks. Amid rising extremism all leaders must condemn this rhetoric as dangerous and irresponsible.

On Trans Day of Remembrance, we honor the trans and nonbinary people whose lives were taken by violence. As anti-LGBTQ+ attacks escalate, we reaffirm: Jewish values demand inclusion. Everyone deserves to live openly, safely, and without fear. May their memories be a blessing.

On the anniversary of the Club Q shooting, we remember the five lives stolen and we recommit to action. LGBTQ+ communities — especially trans youth — are facing renewed attacks through hateful laws and rhetoric. Everyone deserves safety, dignity, and the freedom to be themselves.

Sixty-five years ago, six-year-old Ruby Bridges bravely integrated her New Orleans school, facing hate with extraordinary courage. Her story reminds us that democracy and justice depend on protecting every child’s right to learn, live, and thrive in safety and equality.

"The Trump administration can’t seem to quit extremist appointees like Paul Ingrassia because this increasingly-normalized antisemitism and hate are sadly a feature, not a bug, in their politics and governance." -JCPA CEO Amy Spitalnick
November 14, 2025 at 4:26 PM
At a moment of rising antisemitism and broader hate and extremism, the loudest voices are offering a false choice between Jewish safety and democracy. But there is no Jewish safety without inclusive democracy - and no inclusive democracy without Jewish safety.

Today we honor all who have served — including the many Jewish Americans and members of diverse communities who have worn the uniform in defense of freedom and democracy. Their service reminds us that protecting democracy is a shared responsibility. Thank you to all veterans.

JCPA CEO @amyspitalnick.bsky.social on @npr.org: It takes moral clarity and courage to name the normalization of antisemitism wherever it exists on the political spectrum.

JCPA CEO @amyspitalnick.bsky.social on @npr.org: We appreciate the conservatives speaking out against Fuentes — but they must also call it out wherever it exists, even when it comes from the White House.

The Supreme Court rejected a legal effort to overturn marriage equality. LGBTQ+ rights are human rights — and protecting them are core to our Jewish values and to the safety and dignity of all communities.

JCPA CEO @amyspitalnick.bsky.social in the Associated Press on the NYC mayoral race — and the urgency of advancing a strong, safe, and inclusive city where Jewish and all New Yorkers can thrive.

JCPA CEO Amy Spitalnick draws connections between the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin 30 years ago and today’s rise in political violence in the U.S. Like Rabin, we must reject the false choice between Jewish safety and democracy.

No matter how you vote, we should all agree that targeting and scapegoating the Jewish community like this is very dangerous.
November 4, 2025 at 10:39 PM
🗳️ A thriving democracy depends on every voice being heard and every vote counted. Congress must protect voting rights and expand access to the ballot.

Polling places across New Jersey received bomb threats today, forcing temporary closures. Even when not credible, threats of violence undermine democracy—instilling fear and eroding trust.

We stand firmly against all acts that threaten safety or democratic participation.

Today marks 30 years since the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, a leader who dared to envision peace.

Rabin’s life and tragic death remind us that democracy requires courage, and that hates and political violence threaten us all.
November 4, 2025 at 4:43 PM
A focus on countering antisemitism on campus and beyond is welcome; undermining inclusive democracy in the name of countering antisemitism only makes Jews - and so many others - less safe.
