My dad, with only five daughters, tried persistently to teach all of us how to change the oil in our cars, to no avail. He waited to die once all of us were nearly betrothed to our significant others, so each of us had a car oil caregiver.

Maybe it's you, Steve, who's a bit out of touch...in these situations, having an innate duty to care is realistic. Having such angst and vitriol is not. Focusing on the good of others and yourself can make all the difference.
