We are witnessing the death of journalism in America. Some of us remember when it failed even to hint at the sadism of Saddam Hussein for fear of losing access. Its claims of ethics and impartiality have now been debunked by the worst person ever to befoul the White House. Fake News indeed.

As former living history demonstrators (long hunter, pioneer, settler) and a tomahawk instructor (one rule: no knives), we found it amusing that the Civil War reenactors all went back to their tin tipis at night. Who knows what this bunch would go back to.

For a little light reading, we recommend "The Masque of JFK. Jr.," a macabre little tale by a relatively unknown author whose biography includes an allusion to a plague of some kind and a cryptic, possibly inimical reference to Edgar Allan Poe. Not currently available on Amazon.com.
