I think examples of play are critical to communicate the core concepts.
The idea of the rules may be old hat to the writer, and an undiscovered country to the reader. Having a guideline would be great!
In a rulebook, would you prefer a breakdown on how quests or adventures could work, or do you prefer having examples ready to be used?
