Hello Bluesky! I’m new here and although I likely won’t post often, I’m here to listen, learn, and hopefully connect with all the good in humanity.

When I do post, I’ll do my best to fill your feed with natural beauty like this pretty #coleus from my garden this summer.

Let’s connect?
The days are getting increasingly short, there’s a bitterness in the air and I’m already longing for next summer’s garden.

"It’s not just about transgender people...They want to take over politics. They want to take over education. They want to reclaim the family—it’s white Christian patriarchal supremacy. So that’s bad for everyone, except for the few alpha males who get to be at the top of it." #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli

Following the Ward 1 public trustee debate I’m even more confused about this endorsement. Ms Hart seems very inexperienced compared to others’ w/ education governance experience (eg. Regal). Tagging two knowledgeable Calgarians for your perspective, pls @hollyhoye.bsky.social @missgiven.bsky.social
We’re thrilled to announce our first endorsement for the 2025 Calgary Public School Board Trustee election: Brit Hart for School Board Trustee in Wards 1 & 2.

Do referendums generate respectful debate, genuine dialogue, and valid outcomes the way Danielle Smith suggests?

Seldom, if ever.

In my debate with Ted Morton, I showed how they’re often a politician’s tool of convenience—and often backfire. 🧵

We agree! And we love being a part of a community that cares in this way. Thank you Calgary Climate Hub and Alberta Ecotrust Foundation for creating such a great resource!

We can't wait to see the change it brings.

This is a really beautiful piece from @mcsweeneys.net about the inherent value of neurodivergent people. RFK Jr. is dead wrong in the way he demeans and diminishes people with autism.

The very first decoupling from America we should do is not allow Canadian media to be majority owned by Americans anymore, it would change a lot.

Alberta’s classrooms are overcrowded and more complex than ever—with growing class sizes and increasing student diversity.

But resources haven’t kept up. Larger classes + fewer supports = a system in crisis.

It’s time to invest in our schools. #stoptheexcuses #fundourschools

The Alberta Government now wants to allow coal mining in the Eastern Slopes of the Rocky Mountains.

Coal mining.

COAL MINING!

IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS!

They tried this is 2020 but backed down due to huge public outrage. They’re now trying again.

Spread the word. Let them hear you.

With the public hearings over the Grassy Mountain coal mine starting today, it’s important for Albertans to have their voices heard.

Coal mining in our Rocky Mountains doesn’t make sense. It’s little economic benefit for significant environmental risk.
