I do that sometimes tbh lol buy a new game on a deep sale thinking I'll play it, then my eye gets caught by an old game I've been meaning to play

What do you think dinner is 😈

This is me too 😭😭

I was thinking of making a commentary video on this, and if I do-- I'm stealing this title LOL I can't wait for the comments 😅

But seriously... are you being cheeky? Or are you being serious? Or a bit of both? Curious what you really think.

Me literally buying my nephew the opposite Pokémon for his bday cuz he wanted to play the full game but only owned one 😭😭😭

I feel like there's a video idea here. Maybe I can compare overall sales of a game to its vanilla and definitive versions, and then compare that to parts of the series that DIDN'T have definitive editions.... 🤔 Get some hard numbers on this matter

Horizon has great DLC, for sure. I think the best way to do it is to "nest" it into the main game so that someone at end game can just find the path and try it out, or if you at rolsyijg for the first time it feels like a side mission, ie. It's baked into the game organically.

The games that do DLC well understand this. Bloodborne's DLC, for instance, is so well thought out and baked into the OG that I'd be sad to play vanilla.

So you think it's a conditioning. And what they're REALLY conditioning is a lack of consumer confidence. Either that the price is right, or that the game is done.
November 28, 2025 at 3:22 PM
Oh I know lol but yea, it's a combo of complete editions and just adequate patching.

So really, it all TRULY boils down to the release of incomplete games and lack of consumer confidence that they're getting the most from their game buying it early 🤷🏾

💯 This is my biggest issue with modern JRPGs, and why I usually Play them way late. I don't really have time to play something that is 90+ hours like P5 twice.

Tho, I did just play vanilla and decided if never touch Royal. I just can't after 93 hours to beat the OG.
November 28, 2025 at 3:20 PM
Totally get this. Some games I buy even if I suspect a definitive edition to support the game. But those are pretty rare

💯 Pure raw facts

That's so interesting. Cuz same.

I've only played P5 vanilla and have no interest in Royal.

But I'm very excited to actually finish SMT V playing Vengeance lol

Oh I totally agree. I'm not arguing the VALUE of this model- just polling if it is indeed happening as he suggested.

I'd say the thru line from most of these responses is what I expected: if it's a game or a series you LOVE, you're okay with double dipping. A support thing.

If it's one you just like or are interested in but not completely sold on, a lot of us will wait for the "final" version.

So.. he's right.
