The algorithm is typically designed, from what I've been reading, to ignore your preferences in order to privilege those who pay for the check mark and whatnot. At least this is true in Twitter's case.

Yeah, no teacher should be making comments about a student's body like that when they hold a significant position of power over them, as well as for that it is, like you said, highly inappropriate.
