I've come to realize something I dislike about social media as a whole and that's the discover/for you/random post viewing function that just rewards inflammatory nonsense. I don't want to look at some random's attempt to get attention. I want something that is actually worth engaging with.

Just rode a skateboard for the first time in a long time. It felt great. Still feel like a baby colt trying to get its legs underneath it and I need stiffer bushings for the trucks. Still, was nice to ride again.

I can understand China because of the history, both pre 1949 and post 1949, that exist in the country. Not to mention the fact that Shanghai and Beijing are big international cities. I can also understand, to an extent, visiting a place like North Korea. I'd never go to either, but I get it.
I don't understand people who go on holidays in dictatorships. Be it China or elsewhere.

Why would I go out and spend money to be alone when I could do that at home for free? Unless you meet someone there and become friends (or possibly more), going to a concert or a club by yourself is a miserable experience.
