like the time when we were opening presents my cousin’s kid bit him so the dad SLAPPED him + the kid starts crying so they take him into the other room but we don’t stop opening presents + from our exact viewing angle we have a split screen
of people oohing + aahing over gifts while off to the side this kid is incredibly distressed + getting further disciplined + perhaps first aid? im not sure if there was a nosebleed or a bitten tongue or if he bit him THAT hard but it was like watching a car crash in real time

that feels like it counts differently as the inception of a serious of unfortunate events that led to me actually getting therapy + meds + put me on the longer path to Getting Better + repairing my relationship with my sister whom i love VERY MUCH + it’s now just a fucked up story instead of a Traumatic Event™
