However, because Miriel's father was never disowned, she is, technically, Miriel of House Tremere, although she barely mentions it and met her grandparents, like, once. Laurent's technically a noble too!

My backstory kinda gives her a last name? The magic-heavy noble house of Tremere (after the V:tM clan) learned of Miriel's mother's magic expertise and got one of their sons to marry her. He died and Miriel's mother was expelled from the house after she refused to share her more dangerous research.
