without surgery. It's basically all bioessentialist bullshit too. You're always better working towards your ideal self based on fearlessly identifying where you're at and finding strategies to get you closer to the place you want to be. Don't let anybody gaslight you into believing otherwise.

Also, on a related note: don't worry too much about the stuff that people say online about how certain hormone regimens can permanently stunt your breast growth or how you'll only get changes in the first few years or anything that undersells how much flexibility you have over your presentation...

But the sooner you can pull that trigger, ideally not just on social transition, but on at least a microdose of HRT, the happier and more yourself you'll be.

I wish I'd done this sooner. This was harder than I knew it would be and I don't care. I wonder what my 20s would have felt like as a girl. I wonder what my 30s would have felt like as a girl. I wonder what my 40s would have felt like as a girl. As long as you're alive, you still have time.

took a leap of faith and did it anyway. The vast majority of us are not just happier, but better and more liberated for it. You can do the same thing if you try. The yearning that has led you to desire this will never go away. All you're going to be thinking afterwards is...

you don't know what your future looks like. you don't know what sort of woman you actually are, you don't know what your possibilities are going to be. The scariest part of coming out is no one does. But there's joy and safety in that too: all of us were wrong about it to start with, yet we....

You can't predict what yours will look like before you start it. More than that: it's better if you do not try. Whatever you expect is going to be tainted from the lifetime of white supremacist and transmisogynsitic bullshit you've internalized by simply living in this nightmare of a world...

because the chances are you probably already are. You can't avoid shame or humiliation if you're wanting to transition. The act of carving out a new self will be awkward, compromising, scary and intimidating. But every trans woman you see online has gone through her own version of that journey.

trivial and regional example, sure, but there's a method to it. We should be less afraid of having "too much" or "undue" confidence and more afraid of not having enough. If nothing else, it makes you harder to manipulate if you overvalue what you look like, rather than pretend you can't be beautiful

they're simply wrong." approach of cis women instead. You're less likely to face it if you go out with that mindset. For the same reason that you're less likely to be stopped for a bag check if you know you don't legally have to stop for those and simply keep on walking when you're asked for one...

difference between a cis woman and a trans woman being misgendered as a guy. For the cis woman it's obvious that person made a mistake. For the trans woman? It may hurt us quite deeply. But there's no reason why, instead of fixating on your physical appearance, you can't just imitate the "well...
