I play mana dorks over mana rocks in my Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest deck because they accelerate mana while also being bodies that synergize with what the deck wants to do. That's why my comment was only broad in generic terms, not in absolute terms.

I polled my viewers how they wanted me to end this current season of my deck tech series. Here's the result.
Let it be known that I made no video, essay, etc. disparaging the set; I didn't influence my viewer's opinions/feelings at all. I had an incredibly rough summer so I was behind on content.

The goal of my Othelm + Hargilde deck is to get both that land and Leyline of Singularity in play so that my lure creatures and cockatrice creatures get banding. Because WotC refuses to print a GWU legend that can give banding to creatures.

And this would be played in any deck because you can pay whatever for its cost and activation.
Just because a card can go in any other constructed format’s deck doesn’t mean the same should apply to Commander.

You have no idea how absolutely bummed I am that Chatzuk didn’t have an activated ability that gave banding 😩 We were so close!

One of my best experiences at MCChicago'24 was cracking this at the event and not only being able to show it to you but also get you to sign and stamp it. These Unknown Event callouts are so amazing.

That way, I can cast the facedown spells from Magar with Etrata since I can cast them from exile. So it’d be a facedown creature / spellslinging deck. Because I’m outside-of-the-box like that.

Good for tutors because it helps jank be consistent. After the massively missed opportunity in Chatzuk not giving a target creature banding just like his helm does (seriously, why?! 😩), I need tutors to get that and Baton of Morale for my GWU banding deck. No way a banding deck should be bracket3.
