"Soul Makossa" by Manu Dibangu was a pre-disco favourite from 1973. It broke out of New York City dance clubs, and is a belwether song for the #disco era. Famously used in the refrains of Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" and Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music".

"Somebody Else's Guy" by Jocelyn Brown was a #13 Billboard Disco Chart favourite from 1984. I was surprised this never went higher on the chart, a much-revered classic now!

I can’t believe all these years later it still happens. For my music blog, if an artist sends me unsolicited mail from a no-reply or batch email 3rd provider, or from a person who won’t reply, then your submission won’t be reviewed. It’s always a two-way street. #musicblogging

"Show You the Way to Go" by The Jacksons was a DJ favourite from 1978. It's a strange entry here because it was the group's biggest UK hit but only reached #28 on the Hot 100 and never appeared on the disco chart.

We cannot run and we cannot hide from the noise from cell phones. The creators took away simple earphone jacks and made people switch to new ones that require an adaptor. Many didn't bother and choose to annoy the rest of us aloud with their cell phones convos and Tik Tok videos. #cellphones
