When anti-AI art discourse becomes indistinguishable from anti-conceptual art discourse, I get concerned. Some great art actually doesn’t require much labor at all, and that’s good. Art is not about earning merit badges for effort.

Creation requires labor. When you try to take the labor out of the equation, what you get is a hollow fascimile of artform. No amount of laziness, greed, wishful thinking, technobabble, or sophistry can change that simple fact. 😤

I’ve been working on upscaling the Queensland architecture in miniature book nook to a street library scale for some school holiday workshops, each family get a laser cut flat pack to paint and assemble. It’s been super fun and I’m looking forward to seeing their versions
