Literally not a Midwesterner unless your fam has stored Swedish meatballs in a Cool Whip container.
The family legend is my mom is pretty thrifty, so she doesn’t really buy Tupperware but reuses containers. Always a todo finding lids, you never know what’s really in the freezer. One year we got out the cool whip for Uncle Gordie to have with his pie and it was actually leftover Swedish meatballs.

Rich folks getting fancy-schmancy houses built from scratch should be required to pay everyone living and working in the vicinity for the many months of disturbance.

Cis allies can pair up and call the authorities on each other for being trans in a public bathroom, exhaust due process until medical records are subpoenaed, and tire the cops with it until they complain so much about enforcing it that they stop bothering, like they did for non-crime hate incidents.
Anyone can be banned then. I've been mistaken for a man, a trans man and a trans woman before.

It's encumbent on all of us to make this as unworkable as possible.

NO TO SIDEWALK BOTS: Chicago residents, sign this petition: NoSidewalkBots.org

29 people have reported incidents—robots blocking wheelchair users, forcing people into the street, hitting small dogs. At least one hit someone on Clark.
No Sidewalk Bots

I've been reposting everyone replying to this post with their own ACA (and sometimes employer!) price hikes. Feel free to add yours. There is some comfort in knowing you aren't alone and knowing we'll all be voting on this issue in a year.

Chuck Schumer should be chucked out. #chuckchuck
My ACA current plan is going from $385/mo to $821/mo.

As every perma-pedestrian in Chicago knows, the day(s) after a snowfall render our streets an obstacle course, and some property owners don’t make things any easier.

Everyone able to should be donating blood on the regular. Sooner or later you’ll likely need a transfusion.

ICE is an out-of-control danger to our peaceful communities.

Chicago is a truly great city. The perfect mix of homey and cosmopolitan. We’ve got good home cooking from around the globe, people who don’t just want to be in a city but want to be in their neighborhood in their city, and a vibe that’s both no-nonsense and neighborly. I’d die to defend it.

There are some very strange things going on at the Library of Congress. I’m doing searches for news articles from the Civil Rights Era. Political cartoons. That sort of thing. They used to be easily found.

That stuff is VERY hard to find now. Things are missing, people.
