The wunderpus!! This silly guy is one of the more unique octopods as it doesn’t really change color much. Stuck with a unique pattern, it still makes use out of it with camouflage! Along with its eyestalks that give it near 360 vision, and the ability to suffocate its prey, this guy earns his name!

We’re a little late for #worldwildlifeday but today we’re gonna look at the Dana octopus squid! The taningia danae is a 7 ft squid that has the largest photophores in the animal kingdom. About the size of a lemon.
It was first filmed in its natural habitat in 2005, a few years after the giant squid!

#worldwhaleday! Today I’m gonna bring one of my favorites! The Northern Right Whales are a critically endangered, beautiful animal. The right whales are separated north and southern as their blubber is too thick for them to cross the equator! So they’re confined to their own hemispheres. #marinelife

Recently learned of crab eater seals which don’t even eat crabs surprisingly. They eat the usual squid and fish but a lot of their diet is krill! They do this kind of like whales, where they use their unique teeth to filter out the water to keep the krill inside their mouths! #seal #marinelife

Happy Wetlands Day! I just want to reflect on the time I’ve spent in the intertidal marshes in Chincoteague Bay, VA.
A wonderful area with way more wildlife than I would’ve ever known about if it weren’t for the CB Field Station! Learned so much there and made plenty of friends and memories!

Happy Wetlands Day! I just want to reflect on the time I’ve spent in the intertidal marshes in Chincoteague Bay, VA.
A wonderful area with way more wildlife than I would’ve ever known about if it weren’t for the CB Field Station! Learned so much there and made plenty of friends and memories!

The Lybia tessellata, with other names such as Cheerleader/Pom Pom crab, are a smaller crustacean that has a unique style where it holds anemones for defense! They can also use it to help feed! #addOcean #marine #biology
