The idea that there are doctors who throw Puberty Blockers, let alone HRT at a kid who wanders in off the street and then whip them away for surgery is on a par with believing in secret alien bases at the centre of the earth, one will get you weird looks, the other will get you a job in journalism

surprised it took this long for a publisher to try this with a 'real' series. next we'll see a series with an AI-created original Japanese dub.

you folks would not BELIEVE how much the production companies want to do this. they want to never hire actors SO bad!!

ok maybe you WOULD believe it ☹️
Hey just so you know Amazon decided to give us an AI ENGLISH DUB of Banana Fish instead of actually hiring real voice actors
it is fucking hot garbage

If there's one lesson I think we can draw from stuff like this it's that "optics" are a lie. Power will spin fascist cranks as just normal academics who've been unfairly persecuted and peace activists as terrorists if it suits its purposes.
I know we're all focusing on the chat gpt thing but this is an absolutely insane way for the observer and also glinner to refer to an ecofacsist who believes that trans people were invented by jews to eliminate humanity and that mass bombing campaigns should happen for the enviroment.

Because apparently it needs to be said again to the people making background music for public places: Hallelujah is not a Christmas song. For so very many reasons.

As always when I post about being trans, a reminder: if you support me because I'm "normal" or "reasonable" or whatever because I dress like an old man & go to church, but you don't support all my trans siblings, then you don't actually support me at all, & I encourage you to do some soul searching.

If you think that the current state of trans healthcare in the UK is because of concern or caution, I'd encourage you to think again.

It's not medically informed, it's a reactionary response to transphobic bigotry whipped up into a frenzy over the past few years.

And it costs lives.

Kemi Badenoch makes much more sense as a person when you realise that her turn to conservatism was caused by her doing much worse in her A Levels than she thought she was going to and deciding that this was the fault of liberals somehow.

Tony Smith on Ch4News saying international students should be limited because they’re “economically inactive”.

International students pay around £27k p.a. in fees to their universities, at least half again to landlords and they spend their parents’ hard-earned money in local shops.

Just to be clear about something in this story, I've seen several people interpret this as the court being told Sally Rooney's books may be pulled by the government. What the story says is that Sally Rooney has said that she might stop distributing her books in the UK. www.rte.ie/news/2025/11...

One undercovered aspect of the Epstein emails is the work on reputation management. Working to ensure your Wiki article doesn’t mention anything untoward, and is instead “pretty tame” is well known in my industry but I don’t think its ubiquity or importance is broadly recognised.

Central to the 2010s Legitimate Concerns discourse that paved the way for our current pre-fascist moment was the refusal to acknowledge that these "concerns" were based on demonstrable fictions, filtered through socially constructed prejudices. I.e. they were not, in fact, "legitimate".

Funny to think a year ago, most Tory MPs thought Starmer had a clever but cynical plan to bank the changes Sunak made on immigration and declare victory, rather than to keep holing himself under the waterline.
PM describes net migration of 205k as "a step in the right direction". His govt has no public position on a sustainable level of immigration is, nor any known process to decide what, why & how. Starmer is now implying he wants it significantly lower
