Today I did a "transit speedrun" of the WeGo frequent service network! Why? Why not! I had to fully cover all 8 routes from start to end or vice versa, and make some tight connections! I documented everything here on Bluesky across all eight hours, but here's the condensed collage:

Also here's all the routes I took compiled into one list. Times are rough (based on when I took the photo getting on/off a bus, not when they started moving), and are probably off a few minutes. Format is "[Route Number] [Trip Direction] [Vehicle Number], [Start Time/Stop], [End Time/Stop]"

Based on some rough line drawing in Google Maps, this journey took almost 100 miles of buses to do! (around 95 according to this estimate)

AND TIME! Got off at the Charlotte Walmart at 2:55. My stopwatch gives a precise time of 7:54:02 to cover EVERY frequent service route in the WeGo network!

Ran over and caught the 50 to charlotte pike. (2:15) This is my last route and then I’ve done it!

Got off the 22 at central.

Once I did get back, I got onto the 22 back to downtown. (1:58)

Didn’t realize the 22 turns into a 14 after the North Nashville Transit Center! Had to get off at the next stop and run back. (1:55)

These bike lanes are pretty amazing by standards here. Could use protected intersections and a curb for most of it, but the current road standards don’t include those.

Haven’t seen one of these older style bus signs in a while. Modern ones have the routes that stop at them, but not here for some reason. Still more modern than the really old “Nashville MTA” ones.

Got on a 23 Bordeaux to North Nashville Transit Center (1:35)

Also got a real quick ticket card with a dollar on from an ACTUALLY working machine, because why not (using student id for everything, just wanted it because why not)
October 31, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Back at central I got off the 23 (1:32)
October 31, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Got on the 23 inbound to downtown at the Dickerson Walmart place (12:56)
October 31, 2025 at 6:00 PM
Got off the 79 skyline at the Dickerson Walmart transit place (12:54)

Apple Maps doesn’t really let you specify that you’re already on a bus easily, so I have to do goofy stuff like say “directions from Taco Bell to Walmart”. Not really needed, since I can just use map.transitnownash.org instead, but stop notifications are nice.
October 31, 2025 at 5:46 PM
Just got on the actual 79 westbound I needed. (12:42)
October 31, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Got off 56 at Madison (12:32)
October 31, 2025 at 5:34 PM
Hey for these bike lanes at least there’s a buffer? I still stand by the fact that stroads and this kind of development are not friendly to anyone or anything except cars.
October 31, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Correction: it continued to the actual Rivergate station, where we switched onto an actual 56 inbound since the other bus was technically an outbound until that point.
October 31, 2025 at 5:24 PM
56 outbound arrived at final Rivergate/Walmart station and had turned into a 56 inbound, which I stayed on.
October 31, 2025 at 5:17 PM
That 56 eventually came, but was just waiting. Now I’m on it outbound to Rivergate. (11:25)
October 31, 2025 at 4:28 PM
Luckily the 56 hadn’t gotten there yet so I could go use the bathroom finally.
October 31, 2025 at 4:18 PM
55 inbound arrived at Central (11:13)

I wish this light had transit priority.
