I adored this book. Being a horror fan, film history nerd, and marginalized history enthusiast, it hit so many points of interest for me.

Even the ideas of “low support needs” and “high support needs” create/contribute to misunderstanding. They’re the answer to “How much do you inconvenience and challenge these systems ability to justify themselves?” They’re not really about the person with autism.

The 50s were an explosive era in US film history. We were watching the slow death of the Studio System and Hayes Code, plus dealing with McCarthyism and the aftermath of WWII. It's a fascinating period.

Any standouts? Also, did you watch the 1959 House on Haunted Hill or the 1999 one?

An absolutely gorgeous film. When I showed it to my partner, who is constantly on his phone, he actually watched it without distraction. If that doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what does.

It depends entirely on who you are writing for in general. If you want to publish it and have a swarm of readers, perhaps shelving that one for now would be good. If you're more in it for your own satisfaction, go for it whenever you please.
