This should be so simple: release the list, deauthorize the national guard, strip him of Tariff power or the government stays shut until you do. Anybody not on board with that needs to retire.

It’s pretty revealing that MAGA can’t even imagine what it’s like to not worship their leaders. I would gladly imprison anybody whose politics I agree with if they are proven to be a criminal.

Becoming populist will be viewed by many elites as moving right when it’s actually just more organized around broadly important social concerns as opposed to narrow specific ones.

The God of the gaps is not the same as positing that a stubbornly persistent gap in human knowledge might genuinely represent a durable property of the universe. It makes disprovable claims for one.

This is precisely why I do hold religious beliefs. Accepting the limitations of materialist worldview seems a smaller leap of faith than imagining specific knowledge exists that we will never access.

Correct: we should presume that the conditions under which the phenomenon arises matter and seek to understand them. Consciousness has non causal impacts on the universe through quantum interactions, this is a clear fact. Computers have never replicated this and never will. That matters a lot.

I’d posit that consciousness requires DNA and the systems that it uses to become life. There is no silicon based shortcut to get the same output, you can only simulate elements of its behavior.

Not if you presume that the material a mind is made of is an essential property of a mind that a computer could never replicate. Emergent properties likely rely on the nature and quality of their component parts.
