We welcomed Ian McKellen and Judi Dench to The Other Place where they performed in Trevor Nunn’s 1976 production of Macbeth and nearly 50 years later, they were joined by our current cast Sam Heughan and Lia Williams, for an intimate celebration of Shakespeare, craft, and the legacy of the RSC.

Kyoto, our co-production with Good Chance, has had its US premiere at the Lincoln Center Theater 🌍

Kyoto is a political thriller that dramatizes the moment all nations tried to set aside their differences for the sake of the earth, which played in Stratford before transferring to London this year.

We are so sad to hear of the death of Prunella Scales.

Prunella appeared at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre near the beginning of her career in the mid 1950s, with roles including Juliet in Measure for Measure, and Nerissa in The Merchant of Venice.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of actor John Woodvine.

John was one of our Honorary Associate Artists and performed in over 40 RSC productions between 1976 and 2008. He performed with us in 1976, playing Banquo in Trevor Nunn’s acclaimed Macbeth alongside Ian McKellen and Judi Dench.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Patricia Routledge’s death. She performed in several RSC productions in the 1980s, including Henry V with Kenneth Branagh and Richard III. Our thoughts are with her family.
