Patrice Lumumba was the First prime minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1960 after He helped Congo nation gain independence from Belgium, who later apologized for its role in the assassination of Lumumba in 1961. Vijay Iyer and Wadada Leo Smith pay tribute.
