Just another foul tarnished.
They left in all the weird quirks! The graphics were overhauled in Unreal but the OG engine still runs the gameplay. And all the weird conversations are still there.

I've heard all the arguments that it's just a lot of fetch quests etc, but I came to Skyrim at a time when I really needed a comfort game. It became my home away from home, like, a whole 2nd life for me to live. I have so many special memories of playing it and I still love it now.

El niño? Isn't that that storm that happens in the southern pacific ocean?

And also Fernando Torres??

It took me 30 attempts when I soloed Mohg, the Omen in the Shunning Grounds. Decided to summon the Dung Eater and use a Spirit Ash today. Breezed it first go. These things are there to help, use them.

Also, imo they have a steep learning curve BUT the difficulty levels out once you're settled in, especially if you use mechanics like spirit ashes and summons in ER.

That's fair. My main playstyle is just a classic sword and shield build, nothing special. Roll some attacks, block others. Nice and balanced!

Also, from this reply alone I can tell this is a whole different vibe from what X has become! So refreshing.

It's funny because, yeah, I completely agree with you too. I play the latest DOOM games on easy because tearing through demons is waaaay more fun than getting slammed by the horde. Slayer is supposed to be OP, after all!

I just get defensive over FS games because of how much they mean to me 😅

That's a very specific hang up to have. It depends on the boss/enemy for me; shields in ER are particularly good too because they open up the chance to land a super strong guard counter attack.

Rolling's great, but it shouldn't be the one and only strat to avoid damage!

Stay close to the Elden Beast, make use of summons, and rollllll, baby.

And tbf on that last point, shields are pretty OP in Elden Ring, especially if you upgrade them.

I find FromSoft games fun and rewarding as well as challenging. They're not mutually exclusive, and FromSoft always include helpful mechanics too.

There's always so much debate around Soulsborne games. Imo they have a steep learning curve but once you're up to speed, they're well balanced.
