I created a giant banana in Blender and added it to my game. This is what peak game design looks like. #godot #solodev #banana #peakgamedesign #wow

I've been rewatching The X Files again recently and it's been a JOY. Although it does make me realise the 'mythology' episodes were always kinda the weakest.

The Godot game I've been making took a few strides recently which has given me some confidence. I've started working towards creating a stable (early) demo and have been adding in some sound (fun) and making sure it all exports to different platforms (inc. Steam Deck) and it *mostly* works. 👍🏻

I've been fairly commit-happy this last 12 months. With better commit etiquette (little, often, sensible), I think I can beat this.

Does anyone know how to get, like, a million social media followers without any effort and without being charming or engaging in any way? Let me know.

A thing that always surprises me is the negative stigma about "gamers". The gaming industry is huge and caters to all sorts of people of all ages, but the idea that all gamers are antisocial, aggressive outcasts who live in their parents' basements is just... unfair...

Making games takes a while, huh.

I know X-Files took a lot from Twin Peaks, but directly copying and pasting their characters is... something.

Another day, another frustrating #Godot UI bug. Things line up fine when in editor mode, then just randomly misplace themselves when running the game.

Ah yes, Batman - that famously British guy.

Does anyone familiar with using SubViewports in #Godot 3D scenes have a way to prevent the Godot Editor from automatically switching back to 2D? It's pretty annoying - you're working in 3D, but the editor keeps switching back to 2D when you touch UI elements...

Yesterday evening I played Powerwash Simulator 2 for FOUR HOURS STRAIGHT while finishing off the Project Haily Mary audiobook (which is also awesome). I'm living my best life.

This week has been the first *proper* full-time week I've spent on my game (quick plug: tinyurl.com/angaballs) and it's been quite gruelling. Spent most of it fighting with some pain-in-the-ass UI and a buff-system I'm not entirely sure will work 🫠

I recommend listening to Steve Hauschildt's new album if you need some soothing music to help you relax while trying to debug some crappy code you've written. 🧘‍♂️ open.spotify.com/album/3dgWhw...

I'm making my way through Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary at the moment. It's fun and accessible - I'm enjoying it. I'm hoping the movie version will be good also.

My building has a broadband service from The 4th Utility. Recently, in the middle of a weekday, my service was down for several hours. No apologies, no nothing, there's not even a way to complain, as their website does everything it can to obscure any way of getting in touch...
