IMO the DND budget is our best leverage on the US. We're going to see that budget boom and if we're not spending it there, some big US defence contractors will be pretty pissed. It's a big economic move and a big show of sovereignty.

It could be Global eye, could be the Gripen, I hope it's both. Moving military procurement away from the US is a tangible and visible move, having manufacturing here is an even bigger win. IMO PM Carney needs to make the fighter contract review announcement soon.

I think all of the media may have undersold them. If all of these move forward, it will be a huge lift to the Canadian economy and result in net reductions in GHG emissions.
