Future Chicagoan (if things don’t go wrong)
Let’s contrast this to this planned neighborhood of 3D Printed homes in the Netherlands, “Project Milestone”. The first test home was completed in 2021, and they’re supposed to start on the second phase in the near future

It’s Brandon Johnson’s fault apparently

Beautiful textured brickwork with accompanying lighting which really highlights the texture in Eindhoven, NL

Down here on 134th by the Indiana Border. It’s all white picket fences and trailer parks, and feels like it belongs to some rural small town

They also apparently have a proposed development on the near west side? I have not been able to find any information about it whatsoever but it was mentioned in the Madison Street Corridor Study

I mean, I have to make an argument for 26th street station. Feels quite post apocalyptic, not to mention the long winding approach to the station through barren wastelands

My own personal omafiet

It’s this same classic old argument

Eindhoven is planning the same, it’s supposed to be completed by 2031

Chicago had actually been rivaling Portland in their rankings until they changed their metrics, suddenly dropping Chicago near the bottom of their list

And visit Lincoln Square/Giddings Plaza, in my opinion one of the most urbanist areas of the city. Lincoln Ave had temporarily been pedestrianized a few months ago for a neighboring (quite exciting) road diet project’s construction, and the space was really reclaimed by the community.

Let’s build clusters of 60 story buildings all across Naperville

On a somewhat related note, I visited the campus where the Philips Hue lights were developed a few months ago, it’s a pretty cool place

Streetcars can be cool too

Go to the Fort Worth Water Gardens, and then leave the city. The water gardens are a masterpiece, but the rest of the city doesn’t have much going for it

Unrelated, but is this you at the promos section at the end of the latest Jet Lag The Game Episode?

I don’t understand why they can’t just install sound barriers around all these highway median stations. It shouldn’t be complicated logistically or be that expensive, but it will so improve the user experience for so many people

You are allowed to own a car as long as it’s a Kei vehicle

A route south of the borealis going through through cities such as LaCrosse and Rochester before heading to St. Paul would probably do well. HSR alliance also has a map which would definitely work nicely. Of course, this all relies on funding, which is a challenge under the current administration

I definitely have some bias for the lines that snake through the streets and alleys, really makes you feel immersed in the city. One of my favorite views islooking towards Wolf Point while crossing the Chicago river, and the Ashland Station’s transfer bridge is probably my favorite skyline view

Chicago, the most beautiful city on Earth

This is the “highrise” they’re so scared of
