if you havent made any calls, or shipped any letters or sent any emails yet, and you feel like its "too late":

dont. its not too late. now is literally a perfect time to start joining in and contacting legislators and paypros in whatever way works best for you.

its a marathon, not a race!
for those of you that have somehow made it this long without ever calling: you literally just have to list the bills. you don't have to give a reason. if you get a person, they won't ask you why. if you get a voicemail, just say your address at the beginning. it took me less than 5 minutes to call 3

You can also look up your reps on 5calls.org

You can just leave a message saying "I'm (name), a constituent from (city), and I want you to say no to (list the acts)".

So Visa and Mastercard have a huge problem with legal adult content "damaging their brand"?

But somehow they dont't have any problem making money from child abuse in Roblox for over a decade (and going).

Truly the right companies to be our moral guardians.

It’s not like they weren’t warned. When you make it difficult for adults to look at porn on actual porn sites, they start going to non-porn sites — social media, messaging apps — to look for it. Which creates and incentive for people to share it there.

It’s a predictable cycle.

More kids are seeing porn now than before the Online Safety Act became law. It’s literally having the opposite effect.

The major cause? X. The vast majority of minors saw porn, far outstripping actual porn sites.

So of course, the UK government wants to double down with more censorship.

i genuinely think that "i consent! i consent! i dont! [didnt you forget to ask someone?]" meme with Visa/mastercard should be reposted under every social media post those brands make if they allow image posting

cuz 1. its funny and 2. it really is the absolute core of the issue

TLDR; it's in our best interest to keep up the pressure on these companies and be as VOCALLY and VISUALLY annoying as possible.

The goal for average joes like you and me at this juncture is BRAND DAMAGE. Stay loud, stay annoying, connect their effect on free expression with their brand

Payment processors are now holding games — works of fiction involving no actual human — to the same standards as actual filmed adult content.

How long before this is applied to books, or Hollywood movies? Push, a book that deals with incest, is not actual incest.

While i hesitate to say this was OUR doing, as japanese adult sites have been fighting their own battles here for a while now, this IS proof that these big payment processors can be made to reverse course on adult content

They can bleed. We can do this.

this is from back in May, but while youre calling your representatives about the SCREEN act and KOSA, its worth including a mention about the 'Interstate Obscenity Definition Act' (IODA).

remember, you dont need to go into great detail, you just need to be another tally of citizens saying "no"
This bill would criminalize pornography by legally redefining what it means to be obscene.

Period. Full stop. No more porn legally. If you post porn whether free pics or paid vids. this affects you!

The current US administration does not care about things being protected by amendments. And historically, exceptions have been made for porn anyway under "obscenity" laws. Do not become complacent and assume these systems will protect us
