It is clear to me that Christianity, as demonstrated by a large number of Americans, is one of the nastier cults.

The guy shot two random people with a gun, I don't think you can say he wasn't assimilating into our culture
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

I am convinced code editors are the new CMS in that every organisation seems to be creating one.

Almost everyone is using the open source version of VSCode as a starting point. At least we don't have hundreds of CMS products all forked from WordPress.

It's a good job I wasn't driving when that stupid emergency alert went off. I jumped so high I would have gone off the road.

Note to tv writers: it is now 2025 (almost 2026). You can't continue to use a physical answering machine playback to advance your storyline. Nobody uses them anymore and it puts a bit plot hole in your narrative.

I would be ecstatic if someone rebooted Instagram with no AI and no Ad content.

Twitter co-founder and blockchain evangelist Jack Dorsey has revived the six-second video platform, Vine — well, sort of.

I was making dinner and thinking to myself, "I am eating late tonight". Then I looked at my phone.

Am I the only person who finds it extremely alarming that Microsoft Teams mixes chats from completely different accounts?

What can possibly be worse than JIRA? Rovo, Atlassians' miserable excuse for an AI agent.

In completely unrelated news, for the last couple of weeks I've been working to befriend the crows of my neighborhood. I carry peanuts in my pockets when I walk around, and if I see any crows I drop a couple and walk on. They do seem to be noticing. I will keep you posted.
It seems to me that the time is ripe for a Bluesky thread about how—and maybe even why—to befriend crows.

I just had an absolutely terrifying thought.

What if Microsoft Teams got together with Atlassian JIRA and had a baby?

All those people who flatly refused to wear masks during COVID, citing breathing issues, re-inhaling germs, and all sorts of other nonsense, are now likely working as masked ICE agents.

@scruss.bsky.social and @eightlines.bsky.social I have to put together a Halloween prop that is going to use a Pi Pico, something like a DFPlayer and a couple of strips of Neopixels. Nothing major. What Canadian company would you recommend for online orders and quick delivery these days?

I've said it before, and I am sure I will say it again, but I do wonder how many billions of dollars of lost productivity are directly attributable to organisations forcing Microsoft Teams on their employees and partners?

I am preparing a complete rewrite of Gilbert, my open-source text file compiler for building static sites. Latest tests have it clocking a respectable ~150 pages/second. I have replaced NodeJS streams with Web API Streams to let it work in Cloudflare workers.

"Every cancel has an equal and opposite recancel"

Just cancelled my Disney+ subscription. I was already planning on getting rid of it, as I have exhausted the limited catalogue of watchable shows. But then they iced the cake.

Thank you @addyosmani.bsky.social for being the one to call out the distinction between vibe coding and AI assisted engineering. What a good read: open.substack.com/pub/addyo/p/...
Vibe coding is not the same as AI-Assisted engineering.
Can you really 'vibe' your way to production-ready software?
