Also, China is rolling out renewables at the rate of 1 1GW nuclear reactor equivalents PER WEEK, at a fraction of the cost. While it has the world’s largest number of nuclear reactors either commissioned, in development or planned, the total is TINY in comparison. The problem is financing risk.

The paradox of tolerance is real, and the intolerant far right hate that the left are intolerant of them. So it works.

I tell the far right that they are toxic in the workplace and entirely unemployable - a fact they can’t argue with.

Luckily libertarianism is curable with simple drugs…

There’s only one possible destination for Charlie, and that’s hell.

Well, I’m a physicist by background. We look for the fundamental, often mathematical, proofs and principles that drive the universe. They enable us to make predictions that we can test to see if those theories hold. So I decided to look for fundamental proofs in economics. There are few.

Because of the rapid trajectory of economic and efficiency improvements it works in a constantly and exponentially increasing number of cases. Which is why the Chinese are rolling out renewables at the rate of 5 1GW nuclear reactor equivalents PER WEEK.

50% of the UK population lives in this snake shape - because that’s where the majority of the jobs are. There’s large parts of the UK where there’s nothing - but there’s no point in building homes with no transport links, offices, broadband or local amenities.

Libertarianism really is for total village idiots.

The EU is doing exactly that. It is switching to Linux and away from Microsoft and Google, for sovereignty reasons - and that should have happened long ago, really. It’s also now time to read the small print that we click past in T’s and C’s thoroughly. US businesses can no longer be trusted.

It’s called being intolerant of the intolerant. It’s the scientifically rational response to MAGA. You need to make it loud and clear that MAGA are unemployable and that MAGA businesses are going to be boycotted. It’s an economic strike which will hit hard because MAGA are poor trailer trash.

We had our revolutions that removed the heads of kings. We fought the fascists in the Second World War and won. Americans are pussies and you’re all going to find out exactly how little freedom you actually have. All due to having a 3rd world education system. MAGA ARE the state-dependent commies.

Trump just compressed what Hitler did through the 1930’s into less than six months. Give it another six months….

Getting plenty of fresh air at the moment. If you think Trump is in any way good for America - would you like to buy Tower Bridge, it’s only £10M to you at the moment, delivered and installed.

In fact, the very worst thing you did was adopt the conspiracy theory stupidity of ascribing purely financial motivations to the hard work our elected representatives put into scrutinising the human rights issues of this bill. That’s how I know you’re a moron.

The debt discount rate is critical for the viability and LCOE of nuclear and other large capital projects, like large solar farms. That’s why nuclear only flies with a LOT of government guarantees.

The cost of SMR with Carbon Capture & Storage is roughly $2 per kg (if CCS ever works), so the target for green hydrogen must be production at less than $2 per kg. Here’s one solution to that, there are others.
June 22, 2025 at 6:24 AM
There’s a simple solution that is already widely used in refineries, just not (yet) with green hydrogen. Replace steam methane reforming with green hydrogen, create green liquid fuels using the chemical processes the Nazis used to fuel their tanks, and continue to use our existing infrastructure.
