This comes from a long-awaited adherence to a FOIA request per direction of the AG's office. TXDOT and the reps were hiding this correspondence regarding the Cutoff of the Trinity River for over half a year.

As I've said before, public waters in Texas are for sale and the price is dirt cheap.

12:11pm eastern time today, from aft side of Wonder of the Seas cruise ship. The ship has been rocking a good amount since 8pm yesterday. Passengers are comfortable but some amenities such as pools and hot tubs have closed temporarily.

Brownsville realtor Larry Jokl told the newspaper that funding will come from the "state of Texas" and that a selected board, overseeing a Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone, will administer the project. He would not say who was on the board nor answer any other questions.

"Scores" of endangered species were killed during those clean-up efforts. We've also seen this in southeastern Kentucky, following the deadly floods of 2022, where debris-removal contractors clearcut areas and took trees they shouldn't have, prompting lawsuits.

The images above depict moonscaped floodplains, taken via drone by Precision Drone Ops out of Springfield, Missouri. We've seen this sort of expanded ecological devastation before, following the flooding and contracted debris removal in North Carolina after Hurricane Helene.
