Personal goal: rediscovering what I find sacred.
Working goal: making programs that are useful.

In diversity we are all stronger.

I have however no patience for prejudice, no matter who the target.
I mean I'm Canadian but cpsc.gov channel is a lot of fun to follow. Who'd expect that?

(I think government must be made up of people who can laugh at themselves. People who can't ... should be kept out of government. Clearly this government body can!).

Since I've a particular fascination with old Northlands (EU region) history - especially the "Viking Age" - there are echos of this there, too - in various forms, particularly during Conversion Era. (there are many threads though!)

I work on Winnipeg time, so ... now my hours are 7am-3:30pm. Nice for seeing daughter return from school, rough on having to get up early. But the latter's liveable!

I look forward to the day where the current US GOP members are only referred to historically.
I'm also hoping that day is soon.
.. it is what it is, and I'm in another country though.

This list is a pretty good start. I'd probably add something like "attention is all you need" maybe these days...

The best successes leave almost everyone smiling and/or laughing. Or at least your friends and allies!

Mind, this is one of the secrets to Canada's successes and survivals.

Tonight I sing the whole first album!
And here I am holding a copy with the original cover which we photocopied, cut out, and inserted ourselves.

Since I've been seeing this in captchas of late:

Any question that asks "what fits X theme" is unanswerable, without more context (eg cultural context of asker / setting). Anything can fit the theme, depending on perspective, after all.

Spam I am REALLY getting tired of:

"dad my cellphone broke, call me on whatsapp on [shady number]".
Very VERY tired of this.

(if you can't guess, child does not have a phone as yet, and we're not rushing into it. And besides, they'd tell me in person. Stupid spammers)

Basically been concentrating on work, home and daily life - and reading more books.

News has me too full of anxiety about said people who do not care about others, and their widespread effects on .. everything.

Doesn't solve anything to ignore, but one can set a boundary on when one has to face.

One of the things I've encountered in meeting politicians is how many are in it because they truly care about people and situations. Oh we can all disagree on HOW things should be solved, and that's basically politics.

... the ones that don't care are a very loud, very scary minority.

May those storms past lightly and leave quickly.

Computer programming is like writing.

No punchline, this is the field I work in, and yes, I study - other than code - writing techniques, methods, ideas and practice as a way to improve my programming. I also - to a great degree - view this as a form of art I make.
