A few weeks ago, the @bennettschool.cam.ac.uk was officially launched. How exciting to be part of the founding faculty of a new department, and at Cambridge U no less!

Can't wait to see the BSPP grow to become a leading policy school worldwide

Just emerging from the WEF summer Davos. Three days of pure interactions between leaders in tech, policy, and academia from all over the world.

In spite of all the challenges, there was still optimism (mostly driven by the potential of AI). Reasonable? I’m not so convinced

Just got my hands on @dianecoyle1859.bsky.social’s new book.

Do yourself a favour and get it, if you fall amount the legion of those who think GDP is doing a poor job at tracking progress in the 21st century

Depression related to climate change (and Trump’s election) remain firmly in students’ minds, unsurprisingly

Overall, feels there is less idealism going around.

Employability and earning later down the line comes across as the primary driver of degree programme choice

In spite of this, capitalism is getting a surprising defence.. fewer revolutionaries around this year in the Master in International Business & Sustainability

Today I started my usual course at @sciencespo.bsky.social on Economic Growth, Capitalism and Climate Change.

As usual, I used the first class to get a pulse of where the GenZ is going on these issues.

First off the blocks, there is a 50:50 split on whether “we should abolish economic growth”

New year, new public speaking engagement: this time at Base Design in Brussels 💚

The conversation on what now with the green transition in the Trump era will be interesting

A few days ago, I was in Doha to speak about the potential but also risks stemming from AI when it comes to climate mitigation and adaptation.

My intervention was largely based on this piece from a few months ago:

🚨NEW POLICY PAPER🚨

In this new essay, I reflect on how far the euro area has come over the last 25 years, and what challenges it is likely to face over the coming decade, stemming from #geopolitics, #climate, #AI, #ageing and more.

Check it out!

A real pleasure to host @fteoldi.bsky.social of @economist.com at the University of Cambridge!

He offered students an overview of what dataviz is, when it started, and why it is so crucial in the era of Big Data. On top of showcasing some amazing past projects at the Economist

🚨NEW BOOK CHAPTER🚨

A few months ago, superstar Prof @catherinedewolf asked me to write a concluding perspective for a book on circular economy for the built environment.

It’s now out, and OPEN ACCESS. Go check it out!

🚨NEW PAPER🚨

Mark Twain used to say that history doesn’t repeat itself, but it tends to rhyme.

In this new paper, I join forces with economic historian Roger Fouquet to draw lessons for climate policy today from past energy transitions.

Take a look & let me know!
