At some point, during grad school, @paleopatt.bsky.social, me, and other people joked on using Shaq as an unit system (distance, isotopic composition, etc). Glad to see the #Creepcast podcast having the same idea.

It always makes me so happy changing the page in the @heikala.bsky.social calendar. This month is SO cute!

Using food to show where I grew up

Last weekend I visited the charming town of Chevreuse, just outside of Paris. However can't say I can remember how I got back home, and this is the only picture in my phone. Any idea what causes this glitch in Android phones?

Had a zombie-themed dream last night where the possibility of Zombie river dolphins was raised. And apparently even my sleeping brain was like "we're absolutely not rendering that nightmare"

Recently went hiking to the Chartreuse massif, omg the views!
U-shaped valley viewed from the Col de Bellefontaine. In the picture a valley extends down from where the picture was taken and continues towards the horizon. Exposed rock, shrubs and snow cover the immediate surroundings but as the valley continues the landscape becomes greener. The entire valley is covered by grey clouds, letting just enough light to illuminate the farther part of the valley. View of the Chamechaude. The summit is present in the background, in front of it a bunch of trees cover the base of the peak and then stop at a meadow where the observer is located. The meadow is covered in tiny yellow flowers, some herbs and grass. A few meters in front of the viewer two people sit in the grass looking at the peak.

It was really fun to co-organize the biomarker session for #EGU25. It was surprisingly fun to do a quick poster tour with ~1 minute pitches from the posters, the talks were so interesting. Also, while you wouldn't know it by the picture, we forgot to take a picture of everyone together.
