Second in a series of things my preschooler demands I take pictures of.

In news that is not horrible, a leaf my preschooler demanded I take a picture of from the other day.

Best place in the house to not watch fireworks. She's not scared of them. It's just that the AC is on and my lap is warm.

New friend at work.
I imagine this doesn't mean good things for the pigeons I thought were nesting in one of the other building wings on the same floor.

Someone distributed these at the hospital I work at yesterday. Tucked into windowsills, resting on door frames, just aboutevery odd place you could imagine. It was delightful to go on a duck hunt and see how many I could spot.
I hope they brightened a lot of people's days. They did brighten mine!

Pictures from my backyard. We are so stupid lucky to have these. I was convinced last year was a fluke!

Was afraid the frost was going to get my cherry tree like it has done so many other years. Nope! Everything seemed to open up and bloom today.
I love having my own little hanami tree in the back yard.

View from my backyard. This is a cell phone picture and is not modified. The night sky really is that bright right now.

This has been sitting in my to-read pile for far too long. Moving it to my actively reading pile now!

She turns fourteen this year and she still snuggles like she did when I got her as a kitten. #catsky #fosterfail

He made friends with our older cats, Milo and Tig and spent a lot of time with them, even playing with them. He had a very distinctive gait so we'd hear him thumping down the stairs and know exactly who had the kitty crazies. He also liked to chew metal .. which may explain the teeth issues he had.

Even in the very beginning when he was hurting, he was all love and purrs for my husband. Could barely walk but got up, purring to say hello. It was love at first sight.
My husband was working from home due to pandemic and poured love and attention into this guy and Jack prospered.

Said goodbye to one of the bestest kitty cats in the world this weekend, Jack (Captain Jack Sparrow).
He was a rescue and only our for three years but they were three amazing, fantastic years.
He came to us in a great deal of pain due to a bad eye and multiple bad teeth, unable to care for himself.

I am always amazed at how beautiful it is when it snows.

Had to buy it. Mostly to drive the forager in my life up the wall (love you, dad).

Old picture but I could use the reminder of clear, beautiful skies and a bit more warmth right now.

Gingerbread mans. Courtesy of my 3.5 year old.
I have no idea what typical toddler art looks like at this age, but she's my daughter so I'm convinced it's perfect and that she's a genius.

I love these fuzzy little goobers. They turn fourteen this year!

I am apprehensive about tomorrow as a parent and as a nurse both.
Trying to figure out my best next steps. Treating this as an instruction manual.

This is Milo. He's fourteen this year and my first foster failure. So sorry for your loss.
