Proud to be speaking on Kent Monkman, genocide, and queering art history today at UAAC/AAUC at York University.

Making my way over to York University this week to present a paper on Kent Monkman and colonial ‘gendercide’ at UAAC/AAUC (Universities Art Association of Canada). Come join me tomorrow for the panel Queer(ing) Early Modern Art at 4PM in ACW 302.

Solidarity with my support staff colleagues and friends, who are striking for job security in a hugely mismanaged and exploitative working culture.

Another harrowing morning walk in Diane Saxe’s vehicular hellscape.

It’s heartwarming to see Christie Pits packed in support for Palestine. Shame (as usual) on counsellor Diane Saxe for trying to sabotage this important event.

So much yes

It is 40 degrees Celsius in Toronto (did you think Canada was cold?!) and my wildflowers are the only living things happy about it.

If you’re wondering how shit Toronto police are (with their billion plus budget), people on Reddit are legitimately asking to *privately hire* our own police force to enforce traffic laws because things have become so dangerous.

Just another day in Diane Saxe’s vehicular hellscape

Lots and lots of swastikas along Bloor street today.
April 29, 2025 at 12:42 PM
Queen and Strachan has seriously changed. I thought the facade of the boarding house was supposed to stay? What a loss of character.
April 17, 2025 at 1:31 PM
Surely the Bloor Annex BIA can do better from a sustainability perspective than non-native annuals in a ton of plastic containers.

Why not wildflowers- waste free, and you don’t have to re-do this every year!

Should we really be surprised that *this guy* is cool with genocide?

Another beautiful walk in Diane Saxe’s vehicular hellscape

Thank you for your reply. I would argue that we wouldn’t be ready for winter either way— since clearly these companies were unable to deliver on their obligations.

I admire @joshmatlow.bsky.social’s integrity on this and the ability to see the (very obvious) writing on the wall.

This is the only route to Christie subway station. This route serves a long term care home, at least three schools, and hundreds of homes. The snow mid mid calf height.

Parents can’t leave their homes. Old people can’t leave their homes. Anybody without calves and glutes of steel is trapped.

I am thrilled to be speaking about Indigenized pedagogical approaches to decolonizing art history at The CAA 113th Annual Conference in New York. I’m also thankful for being able to present virtually, because we are definitely snowed in here in Toronto!

Another beautiful walk in Diane Saxe’s vehicular hellscape.

Bike lanes, though, those are clearly Toronto’s real problem.

(All of these homes back onto a laneway with garages. There is zero excuse for this).

Someone should tell “Dirty Devil Vodka” that maybe it their delivery drivers wore pants and not shorts in -5 weather they’d be more comfortable parking legally and walking. Maybe then they wouldn’t feel compelled to park in a bike lane on Bloor St W where someone was recently killed.

“It’s here, get used to it” & wanting a “positive social impact” = antithetical. You realize the environmental impact of making your project go faster with AI right? You could just use your 🧠 you know.
