The sampling gaps do tell an important story, though: we know catastrophically little about the infectious diseases of endangered and critically endangered wildlife. That's a blindspot for spillover risk, but it's also a blindspot for conservation - think canine distemper, chytrid, or white nose.

By framing what should be a reputation and legacy destroying (and likely criminal investigation in inciting) revelation an obstacle to overcome, it allows people who would like to ignore the whole thing do so, not as part of a grotesque moral failure, but as a part of a grand redemptive triumph.

Start with a dry soft cloth. If that doesn’t work, try a soft cloth dampened with distilled water. Then dry immediately with the dry soft cloth. After that your work will depend on what the finish is like and how much patina you wanted to remove.
