My poem called Window. … The day was somber. Skies were cloudy, and streets were rain-slicked. Nothing stayed anymore. Three melted snowmen said goodbye. Two broken hearts drifted apart. All of this seen by a numb person, gazing out his bedroom window.

Based this one off of the 4th stage of a sunset, called the Nautical Twilight.

It’s when the sun is 6-12 degrees below the horizon. It’s closer to night than it is golden hour.

My poem called Pink Clouds. … I went to a fireworks festival, and bought myself cotton candy, the pink one. I was about to take a bite out of it, when I noticed them— the clouds... they’re, pink. I held my cotton candy up to them. "It's the same color." I pulled it back down, and took a bite from it, not the cotton candy... the pink clouds.

That part is, sadly— your youth. So if your youth is bound to pass, keep moving forward. You’d want you to as well.

My poem called Silence. … If only this world had shown me a little more mercy. I wouldn’t have had to smile through lies, pretend love didn't hurt— swallow words I should have let out. They said I had everything— but no one saw how lonely it felt, I was surrounded by faces, that only wanted pieces of me. I gave and gave, until there was nothing left. And when I finally needed someone, only silence awaited me. If only this world had listened, maybe I wouldn't have vanished, while still standing in the room.

My poem called Hourglass. … On my desk, there are a few scattered papers— some open books and worn pencils, and an hourglass. I sit down on the office chair, turn the glass over, and watch the sand as it falls. Nothing else happens, the room is silent, I just watch the sand, as it continues to fall. Only time is passing— until I drown in its sand.

This poem was inspired by the story of Sadako Sasaki, who developed Leukemia after exposure to radiation from the atomic bomb Little Boy in Hiroshima Japan during WWII.

As someone with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, I related to the story, so I made my own little version 😄

My poem called Paper Cranes. … For so long, I have been lost. I’ve almost grown numb to that feeling, that feeling of hesitancy I shackled myself to. It’s different now than it was before. Now when I feel lost, I grab a small piece of paper, and start folding it. I do this every time I get the feeling, I fold and fold, again and again— until I stop, and place down a small paper crane.
